'Waking Up Dead' Movie Featuring Ex-SKID ROW Drummer: Another Clip Posted Online
January 3, 2007Another clip from "Waking Up Dead", a film about the seedy underworld of '80s metal as seen through the eyes of SKID ROW and SAIGON KICK member Phil Varone, has been posted online on the film's MySpace page. The latest clip features Varone going on a rant after his girlfriend refuses to pick up some cocaine for him.
As previously reported, "Waking Up Dead" will receive its long-awaited DVD release in March, according to Demolition Records. The unflinching documentary was directed by Emmy Award-winning journalist Fabio Jafet and was filmed over a four-year period. Bands contributing to the soundtrack include TEMPLE OF BRUTALITY (featuring former MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson and ex-W.A.S.P. drummer Stet Howland),MATT KRAMER (ex-SAIGON KICK),BEFORE BRAILLE, FIVESPEED, RANDY COLEMAN, MINDFLOWER, CREASE and F5 (featuring former MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson).
Varone previously said about the movie, "I traded everything … my family, friends and finances … all for my addictions and the world of sex, drugs and rock and roll. 'Waking Up Dead' is a great lesson on life for anyone who watches it."
